Inter-state vehicle lifting racket busted

Kohima, Mar 30 (UNI) Dimapur police has nabbed a gang of inter-state vehicle lifters and arrested five persons, including a woman, yesterday.

Police today said the gang had snatched vehicles from various parts of Asom and Nagaland adding that they had snatched a car at gun point on Wednesday from Marwari Patti area in Dimapur.

The gang members were arrested after the driver of the car lodged a complaint with Dimapur police with the help of one of the gang member, who hails from Manipur.

Two of the members are from Asom, while the other two, including the woman, belong to Dimapur.

Police said investigation was on to bust the entire racket of vehicle lifters and apprehend the rest of the gang.
