Gold-snatching auto drivers in police net

Vijayawada, Mar 30 (UNI) The police today arrested six auto drivers on the charge of snatching gold ornaments from women passengers, robbery and house break-in here.

City commissioner of police C V Anand told newspersons that the arrested used to rob women passengers off their valuables after taking them to isolated areas.

The arrests were made of the leads obtained from four people who had rescued a woman on March 25, while the driver was trying to snatch her valuables.

Mr Anand also said T Sunil Babu, T Nagarjuna, K Srinivasa Rao, K Veera Babu, K Veenaswara Rao and Satish were also allegedly involved in robberies and house break-in cases.
