Exodus indicates what is in store for SP in polls: Cong
New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) The Congress today said the Samajwadi Party was blaming the Election Commission as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had lost the hope of retaining power in the assembly elections.
The bleak prospects for the SP in the polls had been made clear by the recent exodus of party leaders deserting Mr Yadav, including Mr Manzur Hassan and Mr Beni Prasad Verma, AICC spokesperson Abishek Singhvi told reporters.
''That is why excuses are being made in advance by blaming entities like the Election Commission'' and the ground was being prepared, he said.
Those leaving the SP had made it clear that they were feeling suffocated and were going out to have a fresh breath of air, while those who were still in that party found their hopes and aspirations quashed, Mr Singhvi claimed.
With a certain defeat staring at its face, the SP was now left with hoping for a miracle, he said.
