Chandigarh, Mar 30 (UNI) The Haryana Cabinet at its meeting here today gave its ex-post-facto approval to allow the exclusion of 34 posts of Civil Judges (Junior Division) out of the purview of the Haryana Public Service Commission.

The meeting, presided by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, ignored the views expressed by the state Public Service Commission in this regard.

The cabinet also approved the amendment in the Punjab Civil Service (Judicial Branch) Rules, 1951 for the constitution of Selection Committee for recruitment of Civil Judges (Junior Division).

It may be recalled that a reference under Article 317 (1) of the Constitution of India for removal of the Chairman and members of the Commission has already been made to the President, according to an official spokesman here.

It was observed that last time, 31 posts of Civil Judges (Junior Division) were taken out of the purview of the Commission and filled up through a selection committee. The committee included three Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, nominated by its Chief Justice, of whom the seniormost would be the Chairman.

The existing 34 posts of Civil Judges (Junior Division) would be filled up by the selection committee as per the procedure adopted during the time of last recruitment as one time measure.
