Cong announces 9 more candidates for UP polls

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) The Congress today announced nine more candidates, including seven replacements, who will contest the UP assembly elections, taking the number to 338 The party fielded Rishi Pal Singh Yadav in Sahaswan and Ms Saroj Gupta in Shahjahanpur. Following are the replacement candidates with the replaced names in paranthesis: Ms Raj Rai Singh (Sardar Joginder Singh in Pilibhit), Shyam Kishore Shukla (Ram Lawat Yadav in Patti), Ram Charitra Nishad (Anil Tripati in Menhdawal), Ms Lalti Devi (Sikandar Prasad in Mohammadabad Gohna SC), Satish Choubey (Dr J P Singh in Kolasla), Pramod Mishra (Rajesh Singh in Rari) and Inderjit Yadav (Ram Naresh Kotaria in Baberu).

The list, announced by CWC invitee Oscar Fernandes, did not cite any reason for the replacements.
