BSNL distributes magnifying glass along with directory

Bangalore, Mar 30 (UNI) In a rare gesture BSNL Bangalore Telecom District today announced supply of magnifying glass along with the supplementary Directory released here today to help the Senior citizens.

"This was for the first time such an offer made by BSNL to its customers," Karnataka Telecom Circle Chief General Manager T S Kuppuswamy said.

Speaking after releasing the Directory, brought out jointly by Getit Infomediary Ltd and the BSNL, he said that a master plan would be launched on January One 2008 to attract three million new subscribers per month in the Country including Three lakh in Karnataka. This includes subscribers in both Cellone and basic telephony.

"We will also target to rope in 50,000 Broadband connections, including 5000 in Karnataka, every month during the period," he added.

Bangalore Telecom District Principal General Manager S Ramalingam said BSNL would soon complete setting up of 27 more remote switching exchanges to cater to the rising demand of Broadband subscribers.
