Bomb recovered in Asom

Guwahati, Mar 30 (UNI) Police today recovered a bomb, planted by ULFA militants, from a mobile oil rig under the service of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGCL) at Pathalibam in Sivasagar district of Upper Asom.

Police informed that the mobile rig, owned by private company Diwan and Sons, was being taken to an ONGC site when it was intercepted by suspected ULFA militants, who planted a bomb in the air chamber of the rig.

On receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and removed the bomb from the rig and exploded it in a safe location later.
