Bomb hoax at SBI branch
Varanasi, Mar 30 (UNI) Panic prevailed at the State Bank of India (Main Branch) in Cantonment area here today, after a phone call was made informing of a powerful bomb inside the premises.
Police Superintendent (City) R P S Yadav said the bank officials received the phone call this afternoon .
The bank premises was vacated immediately and the bomb disposal and detection squad assisted by sniffer dogs was pressed into action.
The phone call, however, turned out to be hoax as nothing was found during the exhaustive check on the premises, Mr Yadav added.
