AAI inks MoU with AP Govt

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) today entered into an MoU for developing the airports at Kadapa and Warangal.

The MoU was signed by AAI Chairman K Ramalingam and State Infrastructure and Investment Department Principal Secretary K V Rao in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Minister for IT&C and Infrastructure P Sabitha Reddy at the Secretariat The state government would handover the required land for the development of Kadapa and Warangal airports. It would also provide free electricity and water initially for a period of five years and also security for the aerodrome.

The AAI would bear the capital expenditure on the development, operation, and maintenance of both the airports. Facilities would be developed to handle ATR-42 and ATR-72 type of aircraft at these airports, an official statement said.
