Woman Judge alleges molestation

Khandwa, MP, Mar 29 (UNI) A woman Additional Judge of the Khandwa district court has alleged that her 55-year-old peon has attempted to molest her while washing utensils at her home.

Superintendent of Police K D Parashar said Anup Singh was arrested on the basis of AJ Anuradha Shukla's complaint. He was arrested but later released on bail.

Later, Anup was charged for disrupting peace and presented before the City Magistrate on March 27 from where he was sent to jail. He was released yesterday.

Meanwhile, Anup said he was badly beaten up when he refused to wash clothes and utensils at the Judge's home. The Judge later got him arrested on the basis of a false complaint.

Fourth class employeeso, who are agitated over the matter, were staging a sit-in in the court premises.

District and Sessions Judge Chandrashekhar Tiwari had tried to get the matter settled through mutual compromise.

Meanwhile, AJ Anuradha Shukla and her husband AJ Sanjay Shukla had refused to comment.

Anup Singh said he was in service from the past 25 years during which he had not been charged with any offence. His duty was to provide service in the court but he was forced to household chores.

He said he had never refused to cleaning or filling water but when he declined to clean utensils and clothes he was bashed up with slippers and sent to jail on the basis of a false complaint.

Anup Singh's wife alleged that her husband was being forced to do household chores. Fourth Class Judicial Employees Association's district President Mahendra Gaur opposed the incident and demanded the end to the practice of giving household chores to employees.
