Touch screen for passenger information

Vijayawada, Mar 29 (UNI) The touch-screen facility at the railway station here which was commissioned two days ago will go a long way in helping passengers access information on reservation status, fares and also tourist destinations.

South Central Railway (SCR) sources told UNI here the system also provided latest information on Provident Fund account of Railway employees.

By next month, similar touch screens would be introduced at other railway stations like Rajahmundry, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore, Kakinada and Anakapalle in the Vijayawada Division.

Efforts were on to set up mineral water kiosks at the station where cold water would be sold at Rs two or Rs three a litre, they said.
