Three arrested for loot

Shahdol, MP, Mar 29 (UNI) Three people, including a Shiv Sena leader, were arrested in connection with a robbery case and recovered more than Rs 18 lakh from them, police said today.

Superintendent of Police C S Bharatiya told reporters here today that 13 days back, Rs 29 lakh had been looted from LIC's Budhar branch.

Police arrested the son of a former Deputy Superintendent of Police and District Shiv Sena President Pushpendra in this connection. The land behind his farm was dug and Rs 17,13,400 recovered.

Badra village-resident Tribhuvan Singh and LIC agent Amit Singhonia were also arrested and Rs 62,600 and Rs 55,000 recovered from them respectively.

Police were on the lookout for other accused.
