Tekriwal resigns from Samajwadi Party
Patna, Mar 29 (UNI) Senior Samajwadi Party(SP) leader and former Bihar Minister Shankar Prasad Tekriwal and state party spokesman Surendra Prasad Swatantra today resigned from their primary membership of the party.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Tekriwal and Mr Swatantra said they had resigned in protest against the "negligence" of the party affairs in Bihar by SP president and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
The indifferent attitude of the party leadership could be gauged from the fact that''in-charge'' of the Bihar affairs had not been appointed since long despite several requests by the state unit of the party, they aleged.
Mr Swatantra alleged that the party had deviated from its ideology, adding no leader with strong commitment for socialism could continue in this organisation under such circumstances.
