Sushmita Sen presents Neeta Lulla's collection at LFW

Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen today presented designer Neeta Lulla's autumn / winter 2007 collection at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) here.

Her adopted daughter Renee gave the actress company while walking the ramp.

Designing for the first time for the LFW, Neeta's collection revolved around the woman and the various stages of her life. The main colours of the collection were olive and tan, while the secondary colours that supported the collection included vibrant war hues, depicting women as life givers and creators.

''The collection is inspired by a very strong cause here, that I would like to support to eradicate female foeticide and emancipation of the girl child,'' Neeta said.

Among the celebrities present on the occasion were dream girl Hema Malini, Raageshwari, Pooja Bedi, besides Sushmita.

Having been awarded as the best designer of the year by SNDT University in 1983 and 1984, Neeta finished college with stars in her eyes. In 1993, she was bestowed with the SNDT Alumni award for Best Designer. However, the glamour world took notice of her work when she designed clothes for Sridevi in Yash Chopra's 'Lamhe'.

Today, she has more than 350 films to her credit in various languages and host of collections sought after not only by the film industry, but literally by the who's who of Mumbai, the country's entertainment and fashion capital.

She has done several shows in different parts of the world including USA, Canada, Monte Carlo and Dubai, playing a pivotal part in spreading the glory of Indian fashion. She also runs trousseau consultancy, where she designs and works her clients to look as desired by a ''Bride to Be''.
