Sterling Biotech net up 16.34 pc

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) Pharma company Sterling Biotech today posted a 16.34 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 37.51 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 32.24 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Total income during the quarter increased by 30.4 per cent to Rs 170.46 crore from Rs 130.72 crore during the last quarter.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 134.79 crore for the year ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 112.08 crore in the corresponding period last year, a rise of 20.26 per cent.

Total income for the year ended December 31, 2006 stood at Rs 610.89 crore, up by 25.95 per cent from Rs 485 crore a year ago.
