State instructs DMs to combat water crisis and disease
Agartala, Mar 29 (UNI) Tripura Government has instructed the four District Magistrates to take all possible measures to meet the drinking water crisis and combat water-borne diseases in the state.
The DMs have been instructed to maintain close watch on the situation and take all possible measures to face a possible crisis and deal with diseases like enteritis that have been reported mainly in the hilly and remote areas.
Rural Development Minister Jitendra Choudhury said that the District Authorities have already been taking all necessary steps to detect water crisis and disease.
Chief medical officers in the Disticts and SDMs have also been instructed to review the respective areas, once a week, and take swift action if disease like enterities occur.
Instructions had also been passed to repair all the inactive water sources on war-footing so that the people of the remote and rural areas do not face any water crisis, the minister stated.
