Simhastha probe charge-sheets in MP court

Bhopal, Mar 29 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration Minister Jayant Malaiya today informed the Assembly that charge-sheets were submitted in court after an inquiry into construction-linked irregularities during Ujjain's Simhastha Mela in 1992.

Replying to supplementaries by Mr Madhukar Harne (Bharatiya Janata Party), he said, ''the irregularities were probed by the Lokayukta and the Chief Technical Examiner. Four cases were filed.

The then municipal commissioner was found guilty and the official's two increments halted.'' Generation-related irregularities by the Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company was raised again and Speaker Ishwardas Rohani pointed out that a House Committee's recommendations should be awaited.
