Select metal prices decline on sluggish demand
Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Select metal prices declined on sluggish demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) today said.
In Ferrous segment, copper heavy and copper utencils eased by Rs 100 each per quintal due to poor industrial demand. Brass cuttings hiked by Rs 400 per quintal on improved demand, In Non-ferrous category, Copper wire bar fell by Rs 200 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.
Tin slab cheaper by Rs 10 per kg on thin buying support while Nickel cathode went up by Rs 20 per quintal on good industrial demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,100, Copper utensils - Rs 30,700, Brass utensils - Rs 24,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,800 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,400, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slab Rs 18,100, Lead ingots - Rs 9,100, Tin slab - Rs 750 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,220 (per kg).
