Sanskrit Institute to come up in MP

Bhopal, Mar 29 (UNI) A bill to set up the Maharshi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan was tabled in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly today.

School Education Minister Narottam Mishra presented the bill that provides administrative and academic autonomy to the institute having its headquarters here.

The Sansthan is being set up with the aim of promoting Sanskrit education and to conduct examinations. The Madhya Pradesh Sanskrit Board would be merged with the institute and its funds transferred to the Sansthan.

The bill provided for appointing a noted Sanskrit scholar as Chairman of the institute for a five-year term by the Chief Minister who would also preside over the General Council while the School Education Minister would be its Vice-President.

Five other bills were tabled before the House adjourned for the day around noon.

The Madhya Pradesh Panchayati Raj and Gram Swaraj Amendment Bill, Madhya Pradesh Nagarpalika Vidhi Amendment Bill, Madhya Pradesh VAT Amendment Bill, Madhya Pradesh Sthaniya Kshetra Mein Maal Ke Pravesh Par Kar Amendment Bill and Madhya Pradesh (Lok Abhikaranon Ke Madhyam Se) Deen Dayal Antyodaya Karyakram Ka Karyanvyayan Amendment Bill were presented.
