RBI announces facilities for tax payers

Kolkata, Mar 29 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India here has made arrangements at its local office to receive cash deposits representing taxes up to 1530 hours from March 26 to March 30 and upto 12.30 hours on March 31 for convenience of taxpayers, All cheques and instruments representing payment of taxes would be received up to 1630 hours and sent for clearing the same day from March 26 to March 30 and on March 31, RBI sources here today said.

Instructions have also been issued to the agency Banks like State Bank of India and its associates, Public Sector Banks and designated private sector banks to receive taxes beyond the normal banking hours during March 26 to March 31.

Tax depositors were also requested to deposit tax before March 31 to avoid the expected rush, the sources added.
