Proper implementation of MPD only with Cong at helm in MCD:Maken

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) In an indirect plea to the people of Delhi to return Congress to power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, senior party leader and Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken today said for implementation of the the Delhi Master Plan in letter and spirit, it was necessary that the party was at the helm of affairs in the MCD.

''Only with Congress at the helm of affairs in the MCD, which is the body solely responsible for the implementation of the Master Plan of Delhi and aspects of development of unauthorised colonies, will it be possible to implement the MPD 2021,''Mr Maken said.

''This is a Master Plan envisioned and notified by the Congress Government. As such, only a Congress establishment at the MCD can ensure that it is implemented in true letter and spirit,''Mr Maken said and expressed apprehensions that the coming in power of the BJP would impede the process of implementing the Master Plan for Delhi and regularisation of unauthorised colonies.
