Police, Maoists trade fire
Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 29 (UNI) Police and Maoists exchanged fire near Nallagunta Village of Komarole Mandal of Prakasham District in the early hours of today.
Prakasham Superintendent of Police Vineeth Brijlal told the press that a special party and the Maoists exchanged fire. However, the ultras managed to flee under cover of darkness.
Later, during search operations, the police recovered one ''tapancha'' with a few rounds, five kit bags, a wireless set kit, 50 detonators and cooking materials from the spot.
Police suspect some Maoists might have been injured during the exchange of fire. No dead body or injured persons were found during search operation, the SP added.
