Palace on Wheel to halt at Kurukshetra

Karnal, Mar 29 (UNI) Luxurious Palace on Wheel will now have a stop over at Kurukshetra junction as well, Haryana Commissioner and Secretary Tourism, Keshni Anand Arora has said.

The Union ministries of Tourism and Railways have granted permission for the train's stoppage at Kurukshetra under Punjab Tourism Department's Palace on Wheel project, Ms Arora told newspersons yesterday after the opening ceremony of the Fifth Oasis Krafts Mela here.

She also said for the development of tourist transit centres of Panipat-Kurukshetra-Pinjore, the Centre had granted Rs 16.30 crore for the consolidated development of Badkhal Lake Rs 1.81 crore and for the development of tourism in Surajkund Rs five crores.

Earlier, the mela was inaugurated by the Haryana chief secretary Mr Prem Prashant amidst much fanfare.
