Opposition wants open market for Mizoram anthurium
Aizawl, Mar 29 (UNI) Criticising the monopolisation of export of anthurium flowers in Mizoram, the Opposition Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) in the Assembly today insisted on an open market.
ZNP legislator Lalduhoma stated there should be open markets for anthuriums produced in the state to allow competition among the buyers, which would further benefit the anthurium growers.
He alleged that the anthurium growers were not aware of the rate at which their products were sold.
'' The rate depends on the retail price at which Zopar, the lone traders of the state sold the flowers outside Mizoram,'' he added.
However, denying the allegation, the state's Horticulture minister said the rate was clearly mentioned in the receipt.
