No insurance cover for RTC buses: Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 29 (UNI) Only two buses of the Kerala State Road Transport Corpotation (KSRTC) have insurance cover, the State Assembly was informed today.
In a written reply, Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas said the KSRTC would require about Rs ten crore as one-time instalment for insuring 4,556 buses.
Since the corporation was facing a financial crisis, it would not be in a position to spare such a huge amount.
He said as many as 794 accidents involving KSRTC were reported during the past ten months.
