Module of heroin supply from West Bengal busted, two arrested
New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted an inter-state module of heroin smuggling with the arrest of two persons and seized from them heroin worth Rs 12 crore in the international market.
Chattar Singh and Mohammed Isrefil were arrested with 12 kg of the contraband on March 24 near Dhaula Kuan while they were waiting to supply the drugs to the prospective buyer.
Isrefil had smuggled in the contraband from West Bengal and delivered it to Singh in Jaipur from where both had reached a disused petrol pump near Dhaula Kuan.
The police said smuggling of heroin into the Capital from West Bengal was a relatively new feature as most of the narcotics that reached Delhi generally came through the Afghanistan - Pakistan-Jammu-Punjab route.
Efforts were on to trace their other associates, they said.
In another incident, the Delhi Police on Sunday arrested three persons - Manoj, Ramvir and Mehar Singh - from Sultan Puri area in Northwest Delhi with 11 kg of charas.
