MK shocked over SC verdict on OBC quota
Chennai, Mar 29 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today expressed shock over the Supreme Court's order staying the operation of the Centre's notification providing 27.5 per cent reservation for OBCs in Centrally-run education institutions and said they would decide the future course of action after consulations with leaders of political parties and social organisations.
Speaking to reporters outside the State Assembly, Mr Karunanidhi said ''we will now consult leaders of various political parties and social organisations who are interested in the quota issue and then decide on the future course of action.'' Asked whether he would suggest an amendment to the Constitution to resolve the impasse, he said ''we will take a decision after the consultations.'' UNI
