Four held for counterfeiting

Vijayawada, Mar 29 (UNI) Police arrested a four-member gang on charges of currency-counterfeiting, here today.

West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) L Vijay Kumar told reporters that on a tip off, a police team raided the house of one Sheik Sayed Mastan and seized a computer.

On decoding the computer data, police verified that Mastan had prepared the fake notes. Police arrested Mastan and his friends - P Subba Rao, Mopidevi Rai and P Sreenu, who were also allegedly involved in the offence.

Cases are registered under Section 489 (b) and (c) of IPC.
