Cabinet okays UN Convention on disabled rights

The
Union
Cabinet
today
gave
its
approval
for
signing
and
ratifying
the
United
Nations
'Convention
on
the
Rights
of
Persons
with
Disabilities'
excluding
the
Optional
Protocol.
By
signing
and
ratifying
the
UN
Convention,
India
will
be
re-affirming
its
commitment
towards
international
policy
framework
in
respect
of
persons
with
disabilities,
Minister
for
Parliamentary
Affairs
Priya
Ranjan
Dasmunsi
said
here
after
a
Cabinet
meeting.
