Body of a missing diamond worker found in Tapi river

Surat, Mar 29 (UNI) Body of a diamond worker, who had been missing since Saturday from Katargam area was found in Tapi river, below the Nana Varachcha bridge here.

Police said, the body of the deceased, Vijay Desai(18), a diamond worker residing in Katargam, was found year near Nana Varachcha bridge. Surat Fire Brigade recovered it from the water.

Police recovered a diary from the dead body belonging to the deceased. The body was sent for a post-mortem to the Corporation-owned SMIMER Hospital.

Vijay, a native of Rajkot was living with his brother and working as a diamond worker in Katargam. He was missing since Saturday last.

A case for accidental death has been registered and further investigations are on.
