AP Cabinet finalises nominated candidates for LC

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh cabinet today finalised the names of nominated candidates for the new Legislative Council (LC).

Official sources here said the Cabinet had finalised 12 names in the meeting, which was presided over by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The names finalised were Chakrapani, M Sarada, M V Rao, P V Ranga Rao, Rajeswar, S K Hussain, K Janardhan Reddy, Rajyalaxmi, Kamalakar Rao and Veena Noble Das.

The Council would be formed on February two and Governor Rameshwar Thakur would address the joint session of the Houses on February three.

The Cabinet meeting approved allocation of 487 acre of land near Erraguntla and Nallingapalli villages in Kadapa district to Raghuram Company to set up a cement factory at the cost of Rs one lakh per acre.

Sources said the Cabinet approved the allocation of 220 acre land to the Greyhound Regional Commando unit at Kellore village in Kurnool district.

The Cabinet also approved the orders issued for giving government guarantee for mobilisation of Rs 500 crore through AP Power Finance Corporation Limited to issue private placement of bonds.
