Anti-CEM move in Lai council in Mizoram
Aizawl, Mar 29 (UNI) The Lai Autonomous District Council(ADC) today initiated a move against its Chief Executive Member(CEM) Manghnuna for his alleged misuse of development funds to the tune of Rs four crore.
''A no-confidence motion was moved in the first council meeting today against the CEM, as two of the largest parties, MNF and Congress are desperate to form a new council,'' MNF sources said here today.
The CEM has allegedly misappropriated Rs four crore received from the Centre under RSVY scheme by executing works without floating tenders, sources said.
The CEM was further charged with nepotism over appointments in the council.
''He showed favouritism to his relatives for every vacant post in the council,'' the MNF alleged.
In Lai ADC, MNF and Congress have nine and seven representatives respectively while independent have seven members in 23 members' council.
