Woman attempts to commit suicide in court premises

Ahmedabad, Mar 28 (UNI) A woman attempted to commit suicide in the premises of Metropolitan Court No 11 here today.

Kausalya Premprakash Naik, a resident of Bapunagar area, was attending the court hearing in a case wherein she had filed a complaint against her husband Premprakash on April 24, 2006, for dowry harassment and domestic violence.

After the court proceedings were over, she tried to end her life by allegedly consuming poison. She was rushed to V S Hospital, where her condition is stated to be out of danger.

Kausalya has a 4-year-old daughter Sangini. She had married Prem Prakash Naik on June 19, 2002. In her complaint, she had alleged that dowry harassment for Rs 1 lakh had begun after a year of marriage.
