Valmiki Singh elected to Legislative Council

Patna, Mar 28 (UNI) Independent Candidate Valmiki Singh has been declared elected to the Bihar Legislative Council from the Patna local area.

Returning Officer-cum-Distrct Magistrate B Rajendra said here that Mr Valmiki Singh, who had contested independently, defeated his nearest rival Papu Kumar(Independent) by 671 votes.

Mr Singh received 1754 votes while Mr Kumar 1083 votes.

The by-election was held following the sudden demise of sitting member Dilip Singh.
