UP jail minister resigns from assembly
Lucknow, Mar 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh jail minister Rakesh Verma today resigned from the state assembly.
He has sent his resignation letter to assembly speaker Mata Prasad Pandey.
However, assembly secretary R P Pandey said since the letter is not in the proper format, it has not been accepted.
Earlier, Verma had resigned from the post of jail minister, but his letter was yet to be accepted.
Son of disgruntled senior Samajwadi Party leader Beni Prasad Verma, who has floated a new party -- Samajwadi Kranti Dal (SKD) -- to take on SP, Rakesh Verma is contesting the coming UP assembly poll from two seats.
