Swamy wants SAARC resolution for striking at LTTE
Chennai, Mar 28: Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to get a resolution passed at the forthcoming SAARC meeting for a pre-emptive massive strike at all LTTE installations in Sri Lanka.
In a statement here, he, however, said the resolution should be implemented only after the Sri Lankan Parliament adopts the constitutional devolution of powers sought by the Tamils.
''The LTTE's recent demonstration of its nascent air power must alert all democratic nations to the need for an immediate response to nip this capability in the bud'', he added.
Dr Swamy claimed that LTTE had acquired six dis-assembled Czech made aircraft from the Russian mafia in exchange for narcotics trade at Plaermo in Sicily province of Italy. ''From there these were sent to Singapore and then by sea to Jaffna''.
''Chennai also served as a source for supply of spare parts and air fuel to the outfit'', he said, adding all these informations were contained in IB reports since 2001.
''But the Centre has been sleeping over it'', he alleged.
