SSC question paper sets seized in Beed

Beed (Maharashtra), Mar 28: Two xerox machines and a few question paper sets along with the answer sheets were seized by police about 15 minutes before the scheduled Secondary School Certificate (SSC) English subject examination, at Padli village in Shirur tehsil of this district today.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led a trap at the examination centre at Padli village, about 30 km away from here and seized a few question paper sets of English subject of the SSC examination along with two xerox machines, Additional Superintendent of Police Dattatraya Mandlik told reporters here.

The seizure was made at 1045 hrs, 15 minutes before the official schedule of the examination.

Five persons, including four students, have been detained in this connection, Mr Mandlik said.

District Education Officer Ms A A Kaluse told reporters an inquiry into the incident was in progress.

''We are trying to ascertain from the content of documents seized by the police that whether they are similar to the original question paper,'' she said.
