Puducherry, Mar 28 (UNI) Puducherry Speaker R Radhakrishnan today announced that the remarks he made yesterday against the PMC members stood expunged and invited the members to come and participate in the House proceedings.

As soon as Chief Minister N Rangasamy finished his budget speech, CPI member R Viswanathan stood up and pleaded the Speaker to withdraw his harsh remarks against the PMC members.

Soon other members joined Mr Viswanathan and pleaded for the same.

Following this, Chief Minister N Rangasamy suggested that the remarks be expunged.

On this, Mr Radhakrishnan announced that the harsh words stood expunged and invited the members to attend the proceedings.

He clarified that his reaction was only to ensure that the members keep up the decorum of the House and sought support of all members to keep the dignity of the House intact.

It may be noted that the PMC members, who disrupted the Lt Governor's address yesterday, staged a walkout in the Assembly today stating that they would continue their agitation till the Speaker withdraws his remarks against them.
