RS 98.19 crore dam approved for Panchkula
Chandigarh, Mar 28 (UNI) The Central Water Commission (CWC) has accorded sanction to the Haryana Government's proposal to construct a dam on the Koshallia river, along the Panchkula-Kalka National Highway in Panchkula district.
The dam was estimated to cost Rs. 98.19 crore, the state Irrigation Minister, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said here today.
The construction of the dam would help provide sufficient drinking water to the people of the area, besides recharging the ground water. He said that the tentative cost of raw water has been estimated at Rs. 5.28 paise per 1,000 litre.
