Panchayat polls results, against Naveen govt: OGP

Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: Orissa Gana Parishad (OGP) President Bijaya Mohapatra today said the outcome of the just concluded Panchayat election in the state has reflected the vote against the Naveen Patnaik government.

Talking to the newsmen, Mr Mohapatra said inspite of huge inflow of resources and muscle power, all most all the cabinet ministers of Naveen Patnaik government have lost ''political deposits'' in their constituency and even their own ward.

This clearly indicated that the anti-incumbency factor had played a major role in the Panchayat elections in the state.

Mr Mohapatra said for the first time the state witnessed the active participations of the big industrial houses, who have signed MoUs with the state government in the polls.

He said the polls were heavily funded by these industrial houses which was never witnessed in the history of the elections in Orissa.
