NABARD arranges exposure visits for farmers

Agartala, Mar 28: The NABARD's Tripura regional office has organised two exposure visists of farmers on the latest technological developments in agriculture sector.

About 30 farmers went for the three-day visit from March 22 last week, sources informed the reporters here today.

There was a need to improve productivity and cut down costs by improving efficiency among the farmers, the NABARD officials said.

The second such visit would begin from tomorrow.

The farmers had visited the ICAR centre for North East and Hilly region in Lembucherra, Agriculture Research Centre at Nagichera and St Xavier's Institute of Vocational Training at Bishramganj in West Tripura district.

The visist was arranged with the help of Aurobindo Farmers Club, to which NABARD has sanctioned Rs 49,840 grant, to sustain growth in agriculture.
