Mukhtar Ansari produced in court in forgery case
Ghazipur, Mar 28 (UNI) Incarcerated mafia-turned-independent MLA Mukhtar Ansari today appeared before a local court in a forgery case.
In 1990, Ansari had forged the signature of then Ghazipur district magistrate Alok Ranjan to procure a gun license.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate has asked the police to produce the FIR copy in the court by April 4.
The court will also fix the charges against the MLA the same day.
Ansari and his elder brother, Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari, are lodged in Ghazipur district jail following the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai.
