Mayawati promises to establish equity-based society
Ferozabad, Mar 28 (UNI) BSP president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today said she had given representation to all religions and sections of society in ticket distribution for the coming state assembly poll.
''This is aimed at establishing an equity-based society in which I heartily welcome the participation of upper castes,'' Ms Mayawati said addressing an election meeting here.
She alleged that a secret pact had been entered to by BJP and the ruling Samajwadi Party to help the latter. ''Congress is also supporting SP tacitly.'' ''Congress is least bothered about the welfare of people. It only wants to continue in the government at the Centre,'' she alleged.
Ms Mayawati claimed this was the reason that Congress did not dismiss the Mulayam Singh Yadav government and impose president's rule even after the Supreme Court disqualified 13 rebel BSP MLAs.
