Man arrested with pistol, cartridges

Surat, Mar 28 (UNI) The Umra police have arrested a man with a pistol and three live cartridges near a petrol pump on Surat-Navsari Road, police said today.

Police said Amritsingh Omkarsingh Chikligar was found with a silver-coloured pistol worth Rs 20,000 and three live cartridges near Krishna petrol pump on Surat-Navsari Road last night.

The police team questioned him and apprehended Chikligar, a resident of Chaprapada.

A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Arms Act.
