Gujarat Congress opposition held a parallel mock assembly

Gandhinagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Protesting against autocractic functioning of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the Budget Session of the state Legislative Assembly, the Opposition Congress members today held a parallel 'Mock Assembly' in the lounge of Vidhan Sabha today.

The Mock Assembly was conducted just outside the Chief Minister's office during the recess hour of the session.

Bearded Congress MLA C J enacted as played Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Mahuda MLA Natwarsinh Thakore became speaker Mangaldas Patel. While, Leader of Opposition (LOP) Arjun Modhwadia was in his natural role of LOP demanding time to speak.

The mock Vidhan Sabha was held in the full glare of media, including national electronic channels.

Suspended Congress MLAs Paresh Dhanani and Bhawan Bharwad played their part as the shouting brigade of Congress in the mock court too to get suspension from Mock Speaker Thakore.

Later, Mr Modhwadia told mediapersons that Mock Assembly was conducted to showcase how the mockery of democracy is being done in Gujarat Assembly and state administrations.

It was also to depict how the laws are being distorted to meet the needs and whims of ruling BJP Party, he alleged.
