Accenture launches Innovation Centre in Bangalore

Bangalore, Mar 28 (UNI) Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, today launched 'Accenture Innovation Centre for Sun Microsystems Solutions' here.

Speaking after the launch, Accenture Global Security Practice Managing Director Alistair MacWilson said the centre, the first of its kind in Bangalore, would cater to the needs of Sun Microsystems Solutions. It would enable in quick delivery, thus saving time, and to the satisfaction of the customers, he added.

He said that with a total revenue of 100 million US Dollar, Accenture's progress in India was beyond expectations since its entry in 1987. Due to tremendous progress, it was proposed to offshore some of the works to India and it was also planned to have a central team in India for expansion and leverage.

Sun Microsystems Global Sales and Services Vice-President Don Grantham, who was also present, said the centre would help in focusing on developing software products.

Accenture Delivery Centre for Technology (India) Lead Executive Sandeep Arora, announcing the launch, said ''the centre would be Accenture's global hub for next-generation, innovative solutions based on Sun's technologies. Professionals from Sun and Accenture collaborate across a worlwide network to create unique customer solutions for specific client requests as well as to develop pre-built solution frameworks that enable industrialised, repeatable and secure Service Oriented Architecture solutions.'' The centre was focused on helping business and Governments around the world achieve high performance through improved time-to-market and built-in security and governance, he added.
