One dead, more than 100 left homeless

Malda, Mar 27 (UNI) One person was killed and over 100 were rendered homeless after a domestic fire spread and destroyed 26 houses today in Chachur Sub Division's Dangigram.

Chachur Sub Divisional Magistrate Chittaranjan Das rushed to the spot. However, due to its remote location, the two fire tenders, which were deployed could not reach the spot in time.

Mr Das is assessing the situation to determine the extent of damange and meet the demand for rehabilitation of the homeless.
