Militants ask teachers to resign for violating rules

Imphal, Mar 27(UNI) The Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has asked two government teachers to resign for allegedly taking private tutions and leaking question papers to their students.

The outfit gave the names of five government college lecturers who were involved in the activities. Of the five teachers, two were question setters for Class XII examinations which was held recently.

Hence the two were asked to resign as lecturers. The other three teachers were warned not to resort to such activities in future.

The outfit further asked an official of the Council of Higher Education, Manipur government for allegedly working as the Secretary of a private school. HRD Academy and the decision to penalise him was taken as he was instrumental in hiring the five Government teachers including two who are question setters to take up the coaching assignment.

The militant group has also asked the school management to desist from doing such illegal activities or face dire consequences. The organization said it had launched ''Operation New Kangleipak'' to cleanse education system in Manipur.
