MBEA withdraws strike call

Ahmedabad, Mar 27 (UNI) A three-day strike call, given by MahaGujarat Bank Employees Association (affiliated to AIBEA) in all the banks from tomorrow, has been called off.

The MBEA had given a strike call in all the banks beginning March 28 until March 30, including an indefinite strike called in the Federal Bank. He said had the strike been on ,it could have caused large scale suffering to the people. Bank managements has agreed to look into pension demand. On the issue of recruitment on compassionate grounds that has been stopped and has not been implemented though an agreement was reached before the Central Labour Commissioner on March 19, 2006, a year ago, Mr Trivedi said that the banks are waiting for the government nod in this matter and it would resolved before June 30.
