J'kand: Bus carrying poll personnel meets accident
Garhwa, Mar 27: A bus carrying about 50 polling personnel lost control on the Launga bridge and fell down leaving many feared dead at Bharwania village in Jharkhand's Garhwa district today.
Eight bodies have been recovered so far, police said.
The polling party left the Ramna block headquarters this morning and were scheduled to be deployed for the March 29 by-election to Palamu parliamentary seat.
As the bus was about to cross the bridge with no fences, it lost control and fell into the rivulet, police said.
Rescue operation was on to retrieve the victims, police said fearing the toll might increase.
